Bird Nerds: An Exhibition & Competition

Whether you're a passionate birdwatcher, an artist, a photographer, or simply someone who smiles at the sight of a wrens, cockatoos or kookaburras, Bird Nerds is an event not to be missed.

Presented by Wellington Arts Centre, Mid Macquarie Landcare and Little River Landcare, Bird Nerds is a vibrant celebration of Australia's remarkable birdlife through art, creativity and community. The competition welcomes entries in hanging art, photography, ceramics and sculptural works, with a $3,000 prize pool on offer.

Join us for a fun and colourful Opening Night on Friday 16 October at the Wellington Soldiers Club Auditorium. Wear your feathers, meet the artists, enjoy a wonderful evening of creativity, and be among the first to view and purchase the exhibition works.

The exhibition continues from 17–23 October, with free entry every day. Alongside the exhibition you'll find bird-themed workshops with special guest artists Amelia Batchelor & Daniela Bradley, local birdwatch outings and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our incredible native birds.

So, dust off your brushes, sharpen your pencils, charge your camera, or fire up your kiln. However you create, we'd love to see your interpretation of Australia's feathered friends - and we'd love to welcome you to Bird Nerds this October.
