Choosing regional life and building a career
Watch the full interview: The work life balance of teaching in the region
For Brad, making the move to the Dubbo Region was about more than a change of scenery - it was a chance to build a career while enjoying a better way of life.
Relocating to the region opened doors to opportunities he hadn’t expected, allowing him to grow professionally while staying connected to a strong and supportive community.
“I made the move for the opportunity, but I stayed for the lifestyle,” Brad said.
In a region on the rise, Brad has been able to develop his skills, take on new challenges and build a meaningful career - all without sacrificing the things that matter most outside of work.
From shorter commutes to more time with family and friends, living regionally has given him the balance that’s often hard to find in larger cities.
“There’s a real sense of community here, and professionally there’s a lot happening. You don’t have to choose one or the other.”
Brad’s experience reflects a broader shift across the Dubbo Region, where growth and investment are creating real opportunities for people to relocate, build careers and put down roots.
His story shows how regional living isn’t just an alternative - it’s an advantage.
As the region continues to grow, people like Brad are making the most of what’s on offer: strong career pathways, a connected community and a lifestyle that supports both.
Brad’s journey is a great example of what Region on the Rise is all about - backing yourself, embracing opportunity and building a future in regional NSW.
