Testimonials

NRL in Dubbo 2021

South Sydney v Penrith

Apex Oval | 11,000 people

On behalf of everyone at the Rabbitohs, I would like to acknowledge and thank the Regional Events team for your fantastic work and tireless efforts over the last 6 months in particular, noting that we have been working together for over the last 2 years.

Your team was amazing to work with. We work with lots of Stadia and lots of different Councils and varying Government bodies, none have been harder working, more committed or as passionate as the Dubbo team.

From all of us at the Rabbitohs, I would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ !

Shannon Donato, Chief Commercial Officer, South Sydney Football Club

National Indoor Cricket Championships

National Indoor Cricket Championships

Dubbo Indoor Cricket Centre | 650 visitors

Dubbo’s bid to host the Championships was considered alongside Brisbane and Perth. For the first time in the event’s history the Championships were held outside a capital city. The support received from Council was above expectation and Cricket Australia would not hesitate in bringing another event to Dubbo.

Red Hot Summer Tour

Lazy River Estate | 5,000 people

The decision to include Dubbo on the Red Hot Summer touring schedule in 2016 was influenced by a number of factors including the City’s reputation for hosting large events and its central location in NSW. Our company travels many parts of Australia and Dubbo is certainly on the front foot in regard to its location and its connectivity to thousands of music fans. We look forward to returning to Lazy River Estate in Dubbo in 2020 to celebrate 10 years of Red Hot Rock.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and Dubbo Regional Council for the assistance in hosting the 2019/20 Cricket NSW Youth Championships over the October Holiday Period. I believe this is the 5th year we have worked closely together, particularly with our Cricket NSW State Challenges. Yourselves and your teams have been outstanding in hosting us, providing excellent facilities, communicating clearly and effectively and generally making it easy to work with. I trust we can continue our relationship for many years to come.

Council staff were actively involved in the planning of the event and were solutions oriented in all discussions – no problem was too big and no request was unachievable. It was a pleasure to work with the staff of the Council.

Thank you once again for all your enthusiasm, hard work and absolute professionalism. It was such a pleasure to work with you on this year’s One Night Stand and you really took the event up a notch. I think Dubbo is ready to go it alone for their own version of a ‘One Night Stand’ concert!

Artlands Dubbo

Artlands NSW

Various venues | 800 visitors

Dubbo was a natural choice to host Australia’s largest gathering of the arts. Its central location and connectivity, along with the Council’s significant investment in cultural infrastructure, will draw hundreds of arts policy makers and practitioners to the City in October for ARTLANDS 2016. Four jam-packed days of conversation and inspiration and complemented by an arts festival featuring the best of Regional NSW is easily accommodated within the City precinct. The support from the Council has been outstanding.

NSW Regional Tourism Awards

NSW Regional Tourism Awards

Dubbo Regional Theatre & Convention Centre | 80 delegates

The success of the 2019 Regional Tourism Awards was a testament to the ease of access to Dubbo and the vast range of quality product on offer. With direct flights to and from nine destinations and nestled on the intersection of three major highways; Dubbo was perfectly connected and centrally located for the event. Attracting delegates to the event was stress-free, evidenced by the attendance of finalists travelling distances of 600km. The variety of attractions and venues that could support social functions was fantastic. Attendees took part in a series of activities in the lead up to the event which made for a memorable experience; including workshops at the Western Plains Cultural Centre, networking drinks at the Old Dubbo Gaol, and even a morning walk and breakfast through the stunning grounds of Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
